A Short Excerpt from the Book

The universe is big. As far as we know, the part of it that humans live in is extremely rare for its atmosphere, its range of temperatures and orbit path in relation to its life-giving star, its abundance of water, and its chemical richness; this is, in other words, the most perfect place for a human to live, and I am glad you live here.

As a side note: I've always found it annoying and trite when people claim to be "glad" for things that can't possibly make them glad. In this case, I have no way of knowing who is reading or listening to this book, so there is no real sense in which I can be "glad that you live here." So, I made this form — tell me you live here, on Earth, and I will see your response. Then I will genuinely be glad that you do.
